It's November.... time to give thanks!

This month we officially celebrate our first year in business. Of course, we have been making pierogies, etc. much longer than that, but as The Polish Farmers, we have one year under our belt. A great reason to be thankful.

Thanks to our many customers, friends and family members. Due to their support, we have made it this far. We have met many new friends along the way, and the list keeps growing. All of this support is another reason to be thankful.

It has only been two weeks, but things seem to be going well at Greensgrow Farms, in Philadelphia. Our pierogies appear to be growing in popularity, and we are thankful for that.

Recently, we participated in the yard sale/chicken bbq that was held at Black Creek Greenhouse, in Narvon, Lancaster County. Our products were a hit there, too! It was great local exposure. Thanks to all the new friends we met there.

Speaking of local exposure, our first commercial spot aired on Walt the K's Polka Party on WRAW-AM 1340. Walt Kazmierczak has been running the ever-popular Polka Party for the last few years, and has been associated with the show for about two decades.

If you haven't listened to the program, it airs every Sunday from 10 am to 1 pm at 1340 on your AM dial.

Walt gave us a great plug on Sunday, and we should have a spot or two on the show this week. Thanks Walt for promoting our pierogies to all those Polish food lovers who listen to your program!

You really have to try our new Golumpki Soup. We cooked up a pot of it recently, on the advice of a friend of ours, Jim Whitehead, and found this soup is practically as addicting as our pierogies. Thanks Jim!

As you can see, we have a lot to be thankful for, and we are sure you do too. Things may seem bleak. The economy may be down. You may be feeling under the weather or a little depressed, but there is always a reason to be thankful.

It's like the lines from that old Bing Crosby tune from the film "White Christmas":

When I'm worried and I can't sleep
I count my blessings instead of sheep
And I fall asleep counting my blessings
When my bankroll is getting small
I think of when I had none at all
And I fall asleep counting my blessings

Let's all find a reason to be thankful here in November. (PS- take our poll on the subject right here in our blog.
